Create Your Legacy

A gift for Cancer CAREpoint in your will, trust, or other plans will provide important funding for personalized support services for cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. There are many different ways you can arrange a meaningful gift to Cancer CAREpoint. We have described the most common gifts below. We recommend you work with your advisors to determine which gift(s) is most appropriate for you. If you are considering a legacy gift, we would be delighted to discuss your questions confidentially. If you have already included Cancer CAREpoint in your plan, please let us know so that we can thank you.  Please contact Dawn Hogh, Executive Director at or 408.402.6284.

Gifts Through a Retirement Plan or Life Insurance
You can name Cancer CAREpoint as the beneficiary of your individual retirement account (IRA), 401(k), 403(b), donor advised fund (DAF), life insurance policy or other account. These gifts are easy to arrange or modify. Simply complete a beneficiary designation form from your plan administrator to name Cancer CAREpoint a beneficiary of all or part of your retirement account or life insurance policy. If the retirement assets are tax-deferred, the portion left to Cancer CAREpoint will not be subject to tax.
Gifts Through a Will or Trust (Bequests)
This is one of the most common types of planned gifts. You can arrange to leave Cancer CAREpoint a specific dollar amount or asset, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after specific gifts to loved ones have been made. There are no limitations on bequest gifts. Bequests may be made for a general or specific purpose. All bequests are exempt from federal estate taxes. If you have a taxable estate, the estate tax charitable deduction may offset or eliminate estate taxes resulting in a larger inheritance for your heirs. In order to make a bequest, you should speak with your attorney. Your attorney can help you include a bequest to Cancer CAREpoint in your estate plan. For example, here is some language that can be included in your will: I hereby, give, devise and bequeath $DOLLARS to Cancer CAREpoint, a nonprofit corporation as described in section 170 (c) of the Internal Revenue Code (Tax ID #27-13029691) for its general use and purposes. Cancer CAREpoint is located at 2505 Samaritan Dr, Suite 402, San Jose, CA 95124.
