Rob Tufel has more than 20 years of experience in the health field including working as the Executive Director of the Ben & Catherine Ivy Foundation as well as the National Brain Tumor Foundation. He also directed the Patient Services Department at the National Brain Tumor Foundation, the Adult Services Department at Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the East Bay and founded the HOPE Project, a unique case management program for HIV affected families with children. Rob was the recipient of the Haas-Koshland Award following his graduation from UC Berkeley with a dual master's degrees in Social Welfare and Public Health. He is the past President of the UC Berkeley School of Public Health Alumni Association Board.

As Director of Operations, Sheryl manages Cancer CAREpoint’s volunteer services, program calendars and scheduling of services and many other coordination tasks. Previously, Sheryl oversaw the rapid growth of a hospice organization’s volunteer forces. Because of her long history as a volunteer for hospice and many other organizations, and as a three-time cancer survivor herself, Sheryl is adept at talking to cancer patients, their families and caregivers and answering their questions with both experience and expertise.

Dawn Hogh joins Cancer CAREpoint as the Director of Development and Marketing, helping to raise funds and spread awareness of our mission.  She has 25 years of experience in high tech marketing, serving as Vice President of Marketing for a variety of public and private companies.  Her non-profit experience includes serving on the Board of Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley, and previously serving as Sr. Director, Development and Marketing for Hope Services.  Dawn has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering, both from the University of Michigan.  She is thrilled to be a part of this amazing organization that provides much needed support to anyone impacted by cancer in Silicon Valley.

Amy Goldsbury, earned a BA in psychology from Sonoma State University and a Masters in Social Work from San Jose State University. She worked in school administration for five years before becoming a cancer survivor. During the many years since her diagnosis, Amy has volunteered with the American Cancer Society as an educational speaker and with the establishment of their Colon Cancer Free Zone. She has also worked with Strides for Life as a survivor mentor, and as a board member on their Colon Cancer Foundation. Amy brings a broad perspective of compassion and expertise to her work here at Cancer CAREpoint.

Laura Crutchlow, received her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She began her career at Hackensack University Medical Center, NJ, working in oncology, providing counseling and needed services to cancer patients and their families. Over the past 26 years, Laura has provided counseling, psychotherapy and supportive services to individuals and families in medical centers, schools and private practice. She has extensive experience working with families challenged with medical diagnosis, and children with developmental delays. Laura is looking forward to bringing her experience and expertise to Cancer CarePoint and serving those challenged with cancer.

Cecilia is a San Jose native.  She earned her B.A. in Political Science from San Jose State University.  Her father is a Leukemia survivor who has now been in remission for over 19 years.  Cecilia knows firsthand how a cancer diagnoses can affect a person and those close to them.  Her experience with cancer will be beneficial to her position as Client Care Coordinator at Cancer CAREpoint.  Cecilia is fluent in Spanish and she looks forward to working with the community by helping those touched by cancer.

As the Client Care Coordinator, Denise Garlick is the welcoming first contact at Cancer CAREpoint and she assists the Director of Programs and Operations in managing the programs provided. Like many people, her life has been touched by cancer; a grandmother and friend passed from cancer, and family members and friends are cancer survivors.  Denise earned a B.S. in Human Development/Applied Developmental Psychology. Her prior job experience includes working as a Psychobiology Research Assistant, a Medical Assistant, and a health/medicine specialist Surfer and an Editor at Yahoo! Inc. Denise appreciates the opportunity to be a resource for cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their caregivers and families at Cancer CAREpoint.
