“When you hear the word cancer from your doctor, you feel terrified, numb, overwhelmed and very much alone. A supportive circle of family and friends is wonderful, but cancer patients also need knowledgeable resources and experienced caregivers who can provide answers before you even know what questions to ask.”

Cancer CAREpoint programs and services of the Samaritan Cancer Foundation are offered to individuals in our local community whose lives are touched by cancer.

Each cancer journey is unique, but all have one thing in common - a cancer diagnosis is a life-changing experience for the individual and the family. It is stressful ... often confusing and overwhelming ... always frightening.

Cancer CAREpoint professionals and volunteers stand by your side to support you through one of the most difficult challenges you will ever face. We work closely with your medical team to offer non-clinical support services that physician offices do not have the capacity to provide, including:
  • Counseling - Private consults and psychosocial services provided by licensed social workers and therapists
  • Assistance - Personal one-on-one consultation to help identify what support services could be most helpful in your situation, such as massage therapy, yoga, nutrition consults, support groups, guided imagery or other complementary therapies
  • Resources - An Information Center staffed with volunteers to help you find printed and online information
  • Education - Workshops and speakers on topics of interest to individuals, families, caregivers and the public
